I really do love mornings. Especially weekend mornings when I can wake up next to J and we don’t need to hurry anywhere. After a hectic week, it is also very nice to have a chance to sit down for a little while, take a few deep breaths, and enjoy the sunrise over the mountains.
J and I are planning to have an easy-going, lazy weekend. Last week was full of wonderful activities with our great friends from L48. We did tons of things that we hadn’t done before here in Alaska. Living in a huge playground like this definitely has its benefits – never a dull moment in our life but adventures everywhere. However it would probably take a couple of lifetimes to see and do everything up here.
Besides normal weekend chores – groceries, laundry (tons of it – again…) and some cleaning, it will be time to experiment something in the kitchen as well as I need to work on some of my school stuff. Full-time working and full-time studying get sometimes overwhelming but I wouldn’t change any minute of it. I can be such a nerd sometimes but I truly enjoy writing research papers, as well as being part of the Psychotherapy research group at the UAA.
Yesterday our dog Tassu went to work with J to enjoy the BBQ and other Army team-building activities. Mornings are getting pretty chilly up here, Friday morning it was well below 20F when I headed out a bit before 0800. So we made the dog to wear his little coat. Our little pooch is spoiled (thanks to J), and he is used to be sleeping in our bed after J gets up & leaves for work and I head out for my daily workouts. More than often I find the dog all curled up in the bed when I come back home from the gym or running.
Here is one picture of him being all ready to go yesterday morning, and looking so tired. Anyways, he had a great time on the post!
