Christmas – Once More

2010 is almost over, and a past couple of weeks have been way too busy thanks to all work, traveling, …. Before the year ends and holiday season is completely over, it is time for a quick Christmas present recap.

Hand-painted Pottery from Japan!

First of all, Wife of a Sailor hosted Secret Santa gift swap. It must have been the best Secret Santa gift swap I have ever participated. What I have read from others’ blogs – most of us got wonderful presents, me not being an exception.
A huge thanks to Jes at Bleu Dress and Dress Blues for the cutest wine bottle “dress” and hand-painted pottery ever. She definitely does have some awesome Secret Santa skills – we as wine lovers really, really do love the wine bottle “dress”, and it makes a great discussion topic when having people over.
The hand-painted bowl is matching with some other pottery that we have in the house, and I am already making plans where to place it. This Secret Santa event was a real success – I will definitely be in next year too!

The Cutest Wine Bottle Dress Ever - From Japan!

I was Secret Santa to an awesome Navy wife in California, stop by at her site to check out what she got.

Jason and I had a bunch of presents to each other. Well, especially he seems to pamper me with tons of gifts. One of my biggest treasures now is the cappuccino maker. Thanks to this present, our neighborhood Starbucks lost a regular, faithful customer since I have completely fallen in love with my own lattes.

Since we both love cooking, it is not a surprise that we got also kitchen related presents to each other. I got a real, Italian-style rocker pizza knife for Jason, while I got a French cookbook. The culinary adventures will continue in our house for sure!

It probably is not a surprise that we both love traveling. That being said, our New Year 2011 adventure calendar is starting to fill up. For a few days before Christmas I was relentlessly working on something on my iPad….. and Jason saw the final product on Christmas Day. I put together a brief presentation with cues about one of his Christmas presents, which was a travel destination. Of course I intentionally chose so difficult cues and common pictures that he couldn’t guess the location until he opened the part 2 of his present – a guidebook about the location. I got us a photography/adventure trip to Yellowstone, and if all the days work out, we should head out before mid March. So more adventure reports coming, stay tuned …..
