Where do you get the last bit of extra energy when working out? Energy bars and gels are awesome, aren’t they? I stack energy gel pouches into my bike’s handlebar in triathlons, or tape them on the bike’s frame. There they are, always available, within a reach.
But there is one workout snack that I truly love over the others. Swedish Fish. Those little, red candies are the source of pleasure when running gets painful, sweat is burning my eyes and legs are praying for a break. One fish for each mile. That’s an extra motivation to keep going, in addition to the reward of finishing a long run or bike ride.
