If you are a runner, you know what I am talking about. Running is a passion. It makes me to lace up my shoes regardless the weather. Rain or shine, I run. And run some more.
“If the miles behind me could be put into words before you…
you would feel my efforts, my struggles, my desires,
most of all you would see my joy…
Watch me from afar run the trails and hills
and miles upon miles and you will see…”
- an unknown runner
It has been snowy and cold in Alaska lately. Last week we had subzero temperatures, well, negative ten. Then came the snow. A foot of it. And consequently some extra workout in the form of shoveling. Now the coldness is back. But nothing prevents me from running. Nothing makes me feel more alive than hitting the road or trail, and knocking the miles down.
As you can guess, winter running on the Last Frontier sometimes requires dressing up a bit more. The complete Ninja look with long johns, hats and balaclavas does the trick though, and keeps me warm even on those colder than cold mornings.

Wow, you rock. I’m such a fair-weathered runner…I love it, but I hate getting out in the cold. I really just need to suck it up and get out there!
I love the quote…so well said :)
I don’t know if I rock but at least I need to keep training, no matter what. And the treadmill gets so old, so fast.
