MilSpouse Friday Fill-In #49

The life is finally getting back to normal after the wedding weekend. Although this week turned out to be super busy with all the work meetings, deadlines and such. So not a surprise that I am quite a bit behind with my blog updates, and reading others’ blogs. But I’ll get there …. meanwhile, let’s look at the MilSpouse Friday Fill-In questions. Thanks Wife of A Sailor for putting this together once again!

1. If you could have a private concert with any singer, who would it be?  (submitted by An Air Force Wife’s Blog) My music taste varies quite a bit, so I would have a hard time to pick between Josh Groban and George Strait. Classical or country… could I have both? Not at the same time though!

2. Is there anything you do to supplement your family’s income? (submitted by Our Life, One Adventure at a Time) I think I am actually contributing to our household income, not supplementing. I have built a professional career in large corporations, and have been successfully working in various international positions in my field for over a decade.

3. During your pregnancy (whether past, present, or future), what did you nickname your unborn baby before you knew the sex? (submitted by Explosions of Love) We don’t have kids, and I have never even thought about this.

4. Have you ever won a blog giveaway?  If so what did you win? (submitted by Mrs. O’s Life) Nope. And I am really lazy to participate in giveaway’s.

5. If I looked into your refrigerator right now, what would I find? (submitted by Married to the Army) Lots of vegetables and other healthy food. Some leftovers from our wedding reception last weekend – probably not edible anymore. In general we eat super healthy: vegetables and fruits, low fat food, whole grain products and so on. I guess that happens when there is a fitness and health nut in the household.

Hmm, seven interesting things about myself… let’s get started!

1. I enjoy cooking and trying new meals in our kitchen all the time. Sometimes the experiments turn out very good and delicious. Sometimes sandwich makes a great Plan B. This being said, I would really enjoy owning a small, tiny gourmet restaurant.

2. I love psychology and behavioral sciences, and I am thinking of PhD in this field. And sometimes I can’t help it but (un)consciously analyze people.

3. No matter how much I enjoy mountaineering and winter sports, I have learned to love and appreciate spring&summer especially after moving to Alaska. I couldn’t be more ready to get my race bike out and start some serious training for Ironman. Biking inside either on cycling classes or bike attached to a trainer don’t quite do it.

4. For me the best way to deal with stress is running, and working out in general. Working out helps me to organize my thoughts, and in most cases to realize that things are not that bad after all. Instead of getting tired and exhausted, exercise gives me energy to do more and more. Crazy, huh?

5. Scrabble. I am addicted. I am pretty good at it, and oh man if I find someone who shows any interested in playing it, yep, that person will be my victim in a heartbeat!

6. Personal training and coaching are some of the fun things I enjoy doing. I love to see people getting into shape, finding the joys of sports as well as improving and exceeding their goals.

7. I like to play golf, and used to have HCP well below 10. Apparently the length of golf season here in Alaska doesn’t help when trying to lower the HCP but despite that my golf clubs are ready for the summer. Hopefully one day my HCP will be on the negative side.

Seven facts – I did it! So now it is time to choose some wonderful, brilliant bloggers to whom I can pass this award. These blogs are not in a particular order:

Rachel @Queen of Our Castle
Kimberly @Somewhere The Sky Is Blue
Megan @The Impatient Military Wife
Meg O @Watch MeGo Run
Sarah @Adventures in Life
Megan @Megan Dub-Yuh

So now to 7 facts about me…. hmmm, where to start?!

1. I am a health nut & workout-aholic. Working out is the best energy source I can think about, and tend to get grumpy if I don’t exercise. I have completely fallen in love with crossfit, triathlon stuff and yoga. But at the end of the day, anything that gives me a good adrenalin rush or makes me sweaty – or both, I’ll enjoy it.

2. I love gadgets…. iPhone, iPad, iPod, Macbook – it would be hard to think about life without all these little toys, and all the apps I can have! And yes, I am also addicted to play Scrabble, Angry Birds and Smurfs on the iPad. By the way, did you know there is a Valentine’s Day version of Angry Birds?!

3. I am kinda nerd. Math, sciences & languages draw my interest, and I speak six languages rather fluently, and can handle basics of couple others.

4. My tough girl reputation is completely ruined now but occasionally I enjoy quilting. I even wish I had more time for it, and could take one of the classes in a nearby quilting store.

5. I was 13 when I had my first photograph published in a local newspaper. Ever since I have been doing photography on freelance basis.

6. I have learned to love sushi. Must be one of those things that change when you get older? There was a time when I couldn’t even think about eating a single sushi roll but nowadays I enjoy it quite a bit. And maybe one will be able to make some sushi rolls myself – so that they can be recognized as sushi! Speaking of cooking, I used to hate it when I was younger, and now with Jason I am all over it. We love to try all kinds of new recipes in our kitchen.

7. Traveling is one of my biggest passions. I was born in Europe, and have visited tens of countries on five continents, but still find more and more destinations that end up onto my bucket list – almost weekly basis.
